Regulations

 

1. Date: Oct 27, 2007

Venue: Dongqian Lake, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province of China

5. Events: Open 500m Straight Speed Race and 5000m Round Race

6. Racing Method:

1) The updated version of the “Chinese Dragon Boat Racing Regulations” will be applied in the race.

2) All racing equipments (e.g. boats and paddles) shall be provided by the Organizing Committee. Participating teams are also allowed to bring their own paddles whose color must be the same.

3) Each team shall bring two of their national or regional flags approved by the IOC for the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony and Awards Receiving Ceremony.

4) Each crew members shall wear clothes of the same color and design.

5) Method of race and drawing

(1) There will be heats, repechages, semi-finals and finals (finals method will be decided by actual number of teams)

(2) Drawing lots for groups will be conducted at the Joint-meeting for team leaders, coaches and chief judges. Lane number and boat numbers will be drawn after the roll call.

(3) The sequence of the round race start will depend on the results of the straight speed race and the lowest team goes first.

7. Qualification

7.1 Capable of swimming at least 200m in light clothing. To be proved healthy by hospitals.

7.2 Participants should be insured by themselves. The Organizing Committee would like to require all the paddlers wear life jackets. With written application form, team can race without life jackets.

8. Participation

8.1 Each open team shall comprise 28 persons including 1 Head, 1 Team Manager, 2 Coaches, 24 athletes (including 1 Drummer, 1 Steersman, 20 Paddlers and 2 Substitutes).

8.2 Upon arrival, please submit 2 photos of passport size photos to the Organizing Committee for accreditation purpose.

9. Ranking & Awarding

9.1 Top 6 teams will be awarded trophies and certificates and top 3 teams will be awarded medals.

9.2 Top 6 teams of total scores will awarded with trophies and prizes.

9.3 Teams not in the top 6 will be award with participation trophies.

9.4 Prize List (RMB)

10. Entry & Registration

10.1 The 1^st entry form should be returned by Sep 20, 2007. The 2^nd Entry Form should be submitted by Oct 10, 2007.

11. Expenses

11.1 The Organizing Committee will make all-round arrangement for food, accommodation and local transportation for each crew (28 number of people for standard boat), who are requested to enter according to the number of the registrations.

11.2 People of earlier arrival, later departure and extra will have to pay 400RMB per day (standard twin room)

12.2 You are kindly required to inform the CDBA about your arrival information by Oct 10, 2007.

 

13. Jury members and race officials will be appointed by Chinese Dragon Boat Association.

14. Chinese Dragon Boat Association will reserve the right of final explanation.

We promise that all the participants are healthy, have been trained and can swim 200 meters with light clothes. We’ll observe all the regulations and rules formulated by the organizers. We will be responsible for the cost of injury; death and property loss during the racing or travel before and after the race. We will not sue the Sports-for-All Goes Together With the Olympic Games 9^th Dongqian Lake, Ningbo China International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament Organizer or any individual related to the tournament for the responsibility of the above-mentioned matters.
