1. Date: May 20, 2007

  Venue: Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China

2. Host: Leisure Sports Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Chinese Dragon Boat Association, Sports Administration of Jiangsu Province and People’s Government of Wuxi City

3. Organized by Leisure Sports Center of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Dragon Boat Association, Sports Administration of Jiangsu Province, People’s Government of Binhu District, Wuxi City

4. Participating teams: invited dragon boat teams home and abroad

5. Events:

(1)    Open 500m Straight Speed

(2)    Open 5000m Round Race

6. Participating Method

(1)    We will use the latest version of the Chinese Dragon Boat Racing Rules.

(2)    Dragon boats shall be provided by the Organizing Committee. The specification of paddles is not limited. The Participating teams are also allowed to bring their own paddles of the same color. The steer will be fixed to all boats.

(3)    Each team is requested to bring two national or regional flags to be hung around the racing course and used during ceremonies.

(4)    Each participant is kindly required to bring two photos (passport size) and submit to the competition department upon arrival for making accreditation and marshalling cards.

(5)    Each crew members shall wear clothes of the same color and design.

(6)    Method of drawing:

   1. There will be heats, repechages, semi-finals and finals.

     2. Drawing lots will be conducted at the Joint-meeting for team leaders, coaches and chief judges. Lane number and boat number will be drawn after the roll call

7. Qualification:

(1) Capable of swimming at least 200m in light clothing. To be proved healthy by hospitals.

(2)Participants should be insured by themselves. The Organizing Committee would like to require all the paddlers wear life jackets. With written application form, team can race without life jackets.

8. Participation

Each dragon boat crew is composed of 28 people including 1 team leader, 1 team manager, 2 coaches and 24 athletes (including 1drummer, 1steerer, 20 paddlers and 2 substitutes)

9. Ranking and awarding

(1) Top 6 teams of all open events will be awarded.

(2) The final result will depend on scores of 500m and 5000m races and prizes are as follows:

(3) Teams not winning any prices will be awarded participation prices by the Organizing Committee with 3000 Yuan.

10. Entry and Registration

(1) Entry Form shall be returned by April 1, 2007. Name List is kindly required to feedback by April 20, 2007.

11. Expenses

(1) The Organizing Committee will provide each team (28 participants) with food, accommodation and local transportation.

(2) Expenses caused by extra people and early arrival or late departure will be borne by relevant teams or individual.

(3) Teams invited to transfer to Chongzhou Race in Chengdu city of Sichuan Province will in stay in Wuxi from May 21 and 23, 2007. The food and accommodation will be provided by the Organizing Committee.

12. Other matters

  1) If your team need help to book return tickets, please inform the Sports Administration of Binhu, Wuxi City by April 20^th, 2007.

  2) Each team please arrive on May 18, 2007. If your team need to be picked up at the airport, train or bus station, please inform the Sports Administration of Binhu, Wuxi City by May 10, 2007.

  3) Training day is May 19^th, 2007. The 500m Straight Speed Race is the morning of May 20, 2007. Opening Ceremony and 5000m round race will be held in the afternoon of May 20^th, 2007. In the evening, farewell party will be held. Departure date is May 21^st, 2007.

  4) Each team is kindly requested to make a good arrangement for arrival and departure for the organizer will provide the transportation for arrival and departure only once respectively for each team.

We promise that all the participants are healthy, have been trained and can swim 200 meters with light clothes. We’ll observe all the regulations and rules formulated by the organizers. We will be responsible for the cost of injury; death and property loss during the racing or travel before and after the race. We will not sue the 2007 Chinese National Dragon Boat Month Series Races & the Binzhou Wuxi China International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament Organizer or any individual related to the tournament for the responsibility of the above-mentioned matters.
