5.Racing Events:

1) 500m & 800m Open Straight Speed Race (standard dragon boat)

2) 500m & 800m Women Straight Speed Race (standard dragon boat)

3) 500m & 800m Mixed Straight Speed Race (standard dragon boat)

4) 500m & 800m Common Straight Speed Race (standard dragon boat)

5) 500m & 800m Open Straight Speed Race (12 people dragon boat)

6) 500m & 800m Common Straight Speed Race (12 people dragon boat)

Note: if the number of women or mixed teams are less than four, they will compete with

6. Racing Method:

1)The updated version of the “Chinese Dragon Boat Racing Regulations” will be applied in the race.

2)All racing equipments (e.g. boats and paddles) shall be provided by the Organizing Committee. Participating teams are also allowed to bring their own paddles whose color must be the same.

3) Teams from Nanning District participate in the common category race.

4) Women teams can participate in all categories.

5) Each team shall bring two of their national or regional flags approved by the IOC and on arrival one of them must be handed to the Organizing Committee for hanging at the regatta course. Please keep the other one for the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Ceremony, Closing Ceremony and awards receiving ceremony.

6) Each participant is kindly required to bring two photos (passport size) and submit to the competition department upon arrival for making accreditation and marshalling cards.

7) Each crew members shall wear clothes of the same color and design.

8)Method of drawing:

  (1) Straight Speed Race

     1. There will be heats, repechage, semi-final and final (final method will be decided by actual number of teams).

     2. Drawing lots will be conducted at the Joint-meeting for team leaders, coaches and chief judges. Lane number and boat number will be drawn after the roll call.

7. Qualification:

1)Capable of swimming at least 200m in light clothing. To be proved healthy by hospitals.

2)Participants should be insured by themselves. The Organizing Committee would like to require all the paddlers wear life jackets. With written application form, team can race without life jackets.

8. Participation

  1) Each standard team shall comprise 28 persons, 1 Head, 1 Team Manager, 2 Coaches, 24 athletes (including 1 Drummer, 1 Steersman, 20 Paddlers and 2 Substitutes).

  2) Each 12 people boat team shall comprise 16 persons, 1 Head, 1 Coach, 14 athletes (including 1 Drummer, 1 Steersman, 10 Paddlers and 2 Substitutes.

  3) Women team must be all female ladies.

  4) Mixed team shall have at least 8 female  paddlers.

9. Ranking and awarding

1) Top 6 teams of open category and common category will be awarded trophies (flags) and medals (certificates).

4) Teams no winning any prices will be awarded participation prices by the Organizing Committee: Open Standard Boat 1500, Open 12 People Boat 1000, Women Standard Boat 1500, Mixed Standard Boat 1500, Common Standard Boat 1000, Common Small Boat 800.

 

10. Entry and Registration:

1)     The Entry: Please fill in two copies of the entry form and the name list form and return them to the Chinese Dragon Boat Association and Sports Administration of Nanning City by May 1^st, 2007 and May 20^th, 2007 respectively.

11. Expenses

1)     The Organizing Committee will make all-round arrangement for food, accommodation and local transportation for each crew (28 number of people for standard boat and 16 number of people for 12 people boat), who are requested to enter according to the number of the registrations.

2)     People of earlier arrival, later departure and extra will have to pay for themselves.

 

12. Other

  1) If your team need help to book return tickets, please inform the Sports Administration of Nanning City by May 20^th, 2007.

  2) Each team please arrive on June 17, 2007. If your team need to be picked up at the airport, train or bus station, please inform the Sports Administration of Nanning City by June 10, 2007.

  3) Training day is June 18^th, 2007. Opening Ceremony will be held on June 19^th, 2007 and Closing Ceremony will be on June 20^th, 2007. Departure date is June 21^st, 2007.

  4) Each team is kindly requested to make a good arrangement for arrival and departure for the organizer will provide the transportation for arrival and departure only once respectively for each team.

We promise that all the participants are healthy, have been trained and can swim 200 meters with light clothes. We’ll observe all the regulations and rules formulated by the organizers. We will be responsible for the cost of injury; death and property loss during the racing or travel before and after the race. We will not sue the 2007 Chinese National Dragon Boat Month Series Races & the 4^th Nanning China International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament Organizer or any individual related to the tournament for the responsibility of the above-mentioned matters.
